Wedding with Children

Involving children in a Wedding Ceremony can take many forms. The  older child of the bride can act as the person giving away the Bride, or as a bridesmaid, or as a witness.

For the younger child, the role might be that of a flower girl, or a ring bearer.

During the wedding ceremony, special vows of support can be made by the parents to the children, or the children to their parent and the step parent.

Wedding symbolisms such as blending of sands or the lighting of candles may appeal to the child for it its active and visual effect. Suggest and allow them to think about it, before deciding one way or the other.    

If the children are reluctant to participate, make them feel special by placing them in the front row and perhaps mentioning them within the ceremony without having them participate directly.
