Wedding Ceremony Candle Lighting by Parents of the Bride and Groom 

For a marriage ceremony to be legal, there are few simple requirements. After that, a couple may create a wedding ceremony that is both personal and unique.

Candle lighting is a popular part of the wedding ceremony and can be used to symbolise many relationships, including the partner's relationship with each other, their families and their parents.

Lighting the Candle by the Parents of the Bride and Groom
Celebrant:
Behind us stand two candles, one lit by (Bride's) parents, and the other lit by (Groom's) parents. To celebrate this newly joined family, (Bride) and (Groom) will now join the single flames to form a united flame that will warm their hearts and home from now on.

(Bride and Groom each take a lit taper candle and together light the large pillar candle between them)
